So I'm really thrilled with the direction my channel has taken. Venturing more into categories of diy and lifestyle videos has tremendously helped my growth. But this has also brought me to think about the future of my channel, what's best for it, what will continue to sustain the success of my work. This has been on my mind a lot lately, and I've come to a conclusion on what I've decided. This is something that I feel is very important to share with you all.
This morning I changed the name of my channel from GlamourBoxFox to GlamourLifeFox. I also changed my facebook fanpage to just be titled GlamourFox. The rest of my social media will simply remain GlamourBoxFox - such as twitter and instagram, pinterest and tumblr. As of now I will no longer upload makeup tutorials or anything makeup-related save for DIYs and makeup room tour topics on my main channel GlamourFoxLife. The reason being is my makeup tutorials never helped me with my growth, and my main focus has been so driven towards DIYs that I do not want to drive that growth away.
Ironically when I first started youtube my only intent was to do makeup videos. I still have a deep love for makeup and I don't want to give that part of me up. So I've decided I will be starting a additional separate channel JUST for makeup related beauty videos. This way I don't run the risk of boring my subbies on my main channel who may not find makeup videos all that interesting.
I'm still deciding on a name for my second channel and it will be linked from my main channel so it's easy to find for those of you who want to subscribe. I will be updating you guys on this, and most likely I will begin working on it when my main channel is close to 20,000 subs or more. This will enable me to dedicate myself to two channels.
Wish me luck! And I will keep you all posted! In the meantime I have lots of DIYs on the way!
As a side note all my social media links will be related to both channels, though I may create an additional instagram page for my makeup artistry. Eventually I intend to revamp my instagram as well.

Morphe single shadows...MAC single shadow Dupe or Don't?
It's been a while since I've made a new post on my blog. I do apologize for that. I've been pretty much full focus with youtube up until this week due to organizing my house, finishing up our screened in porch (a.k.a. Meeshka's catio) and also planning for a trip. But I thought that since I recently purchased a new Z Palette and ordered 18 new single shadows from Morphe, I would do a review and swatch for you guys. Before we go any further, this darling bright blue z palette was $18 on amazon.
If any of you watched my February Favorites video that I posted a while back you know that I adore building Z Palettes and that I do have a small palette full of morphe shadows. If you remember my JLo Golden Globes inspired makeup tutorial then you'll know two of those shadows were used (I'll have both videos linked below...
February Favorites ft. my first morphe z palette
JLo Golden Globes Makeup Tutorial ft two matte morphe single shadows
The great thing about morphe brushes single eye shadows is they're budget friendly. Whether you're a makeup artist or beauty blogger who's just starting out and needs to build a professional palette tailored to your needs, or you're just a makeup enthusiast on a budget, you can't really beat $2.00 per shadow. Morphe is a good solid name that I've come to trust and enjoy ordering from. In fact I have the $25 rose gold brush set on the way. I have a few morphe brushes already but wanted to try one of their sets, and the rose gold one caught my eye.
There's a lot of reviews floating around the internet that say morphe brushes single shadows are a marvelous dupe for the MAC single shadows. Unfortunelty I don't have any MAC shadows that closely resemble all the colors I have from morphe. The few that I do have remaining after a major makeup clean out (I'm hitting MAC this week to restock and build another z palette) are more in the shimmering browns, greys and whites family. But here's the truth. I've had a good many MAC single shadows, and now that I've been working with morphe single shadows I say that both names have their great moments, their good moments, and their so so moments for me. With both lines there are some colors I find to work better, to blend better, to showcase better pigmentation. Overall I can't say that one replaces the other because both offer individual colors and many tend to differ. I'd say MAC is more of my lean to, but since discovering Morphe and the amazing price, I like the idea that I can buy more of these and actually fill a pan up in a week vs finishing one over a few months time with MAC's $10 each price.
Below I have swatched each color in the order they are laid out in the pan on my arm/wrist area. As a side note I am using a eye shadow base from Lorac. I never apply shadows without a base, and I prefer how they come out using a base vs not using one. That's actually a difference I can say I usually see between morphe and MAC single shadows. When I swatch the MAC shadows on my fingers I find the pigment is much better, whereas morphe seems primarily reliable upon a good base in order for the shadows to be done justice. Other than that I love both. The shadows begin with that first deep blue (the one closest to my sleeve). From that order the first seven are shimmers, while the rest (beginning with the 8th swatch on down) are all matte. Scroll down for the list of each name.
From the sleeve up the shimmer color names are: #46, #08, #38, Glow For Me, Crystal, I'm So Fancy, Ice,
Starting with the 8th swatch (the mint green) the matte shades are: Breakfast At Tiffaneez, Sunflower, Aloha, 35, Pretty In Pink, Creme Brule, Coal, Nuts For You, Birthday Suit, Toasted Hazelnut, Porcelain.
The three shades I was least impressed by are Crystal, Ice and Coal. Coal is the matte black and you'll really want to use this one with a black base for it to work. While the other two will work great for subtle highlights but not so great alone as shadows.
I hope this review helps you in deciding what to do for eye shadows. You really cannot beat the price for this quality, so if you haven't already tried this line then please do!

Limecrime or Lies & Crime? The fraud speculation behind Doe Deere's makeup line.
Doe Deere's world is one of quirky, vibrant colors, unicorns, art. It presents itself as a colorful place where makeup enthusiasts can drown themselves in the happy and wonderful world that is Doe's instagram and makeup line LimeCrime.
Being a part of many makeup groups on facebook I have seen constant posts in the past months about how shady LimeCrime is and what a complete bitch people claim Doe Deere is in general. But lately it has gotten worse, so bad in fact that I decided to blog about one of the biggest scandals in the makeup industry as of late. And to make matters worse, apparently LimeCrime's website has been hacked and customers have had their identities stolen. Now people are calling Doe Deere out on instagram. One instagramer claimed that she lost $10,000 of college funds for ordering a $16 tube of LimeCrime lipstick.
Let's be real. If you were a LimeCrime customer going through such an ordeal you'd be outraged too, especially in this economy. But let's take a look at how Doe Deere handles her angry and alarmed customers who are voicing their concerns and frustrations. Instead of a profesional approach with sympathy for her loyal customers and concern for her company's name she instead backlashes with little to no concern for how anyone will view her and her "shady" business. Here is a supposed post written by Doe herself addressing her angry, scammed customers.
Personally I do not follow Doe on instagram, nor have I ever bought anything from LimeCrime directly. Believe me I have wanted to. I have been trying to get my hands on cashmere for some time because it's unlike any nude color I've seen, but since all this drama sprang into action I became leery of giving out my credit card info and generally doing any business with this company whatsoever. Aside from the fraud, months back there were claims that LimeCrime's ingredients were not what they were said to be and Doe Deere was still being hostile and overall rude with her customers. I have no way of knowing how true the majority of this scandal is. Like I said I do not know Doe Deere, I do not follow her, and I don't buy from her... to play it safe I never will. But what I do know is a lot of people are angry, outraged, and a lot of people have lost money.
Now let's assume this letter WAS written by Doe and that this really is how she chose to respond to the situation at hand. First off, I would not be so bold as to compare LimeCrime to MAC. I don't think Doe's products deserve to be in the same sentence as MAC. MAC is a solid brand millions of women have trusted for years and there are several cheap dupes that have proven to be better or equal in quality to LimeCrime. In my opinion this woman needs to get off her high horse, grow up, then come back down to earth and take a moment to put herself in her customers shoes. If people were loyal enough to me to buy my brand and support my product and my name I think I would be outraged that my customers, who trusted me and my product, were robbed. Because basically that's what we're talking about here... people are being robbed.
She seems to lack any form of respect or appreciation to the people who have made her who she is and have gotten her where she is now: her fans. Without their loyalty and their purchases she would probably be a nobody.
So where is the apology to her customers? Even if she is not at fault for this situation, the professional thing to do is publicly apologize to people who have lost money and try to reassure everyone that situation is being investigated and looked into. If Doe really did write this response she comes off as someone who is greedy, unappreciative, and lacks having a grip on reality.
To wrap things up on my observation of this situation I truly hope that no one is that wrapped up in themselves, but there are a lot of crooked, shady people in the makeup industry. What I will say to people reading this, if you MUST have a product from LimeCrime try buying through another source. You may spend a little more money but it's a lot better than losing $10,000 for purchasing a $16 lipstick. Play it safe.
I would also like to take a moment to sympathize with anyone who has found themselves in a tight spot from buying through this or any other shady company. I cannot begin to imagine the amount of stress and how helpless these people must feel right now. What a terrible thing for anyone to go through. Buying makeup should be a positive, fun experience to reward yourself, build up your collection and own something that makes you feel beautiful. I hate the thought of knowing that anything makeup related can turn into such an ugly, negative, and broken situation.
It seems Doe Deere has thrown her customers into a concentration camp of financial fraud...

Color Pop? Or Color NOT?
There's not a single corner inch of youtube, makeup groups or blogs that haven't raved about the up and rising makeup brand Color Pop which has become well known for their endless variety of eyeshadows, lip liners, and lipsticks all for the mere price of $5.00 each! How can you possibly beat that? But even at such an affordable price one must ask them self, "Is it really worth buying?"
So this is but a small review. I am not sponsored or affiliated in any way so these few shadows were bought with my own money and this is my own honest opinion. This is an overlook of six of their shadows, both mattes and a couple of those electric galaxy beauties I simply could not resist!
Let's not drag this out anymore then it has to be, there's only six of these little puppies in my possession so I won't ramble on and carry you into a political overview that could go on for pages. These little shadows refer to themselves as "super shock shadows", so let's just see if how shocking they really are...
The colors I received in the mail are as follows:
#1 "Effect" a very dark tint of a forest green. It appeared matte to the naked eye, but after swatching it I can see a slight trace of shimmer. Overall the color putout of this one seems pretty good. I can see myself finding better use for it over a good base and perhaps using it as a deepening transition color or perhaps used to darken the outer "c" of my eye for an emerald shadow look.
#2 "Hanky Panky" funny name, sad color putout. It's supposed to be a light warm toned sandy brown. On my olive skin tone this shadow is near invisible. The most use I would personally find out of this one is a base color or a setting shadow. It is a matte color, but a lousy one. I've had better.
#3 "Fairfax" Not bad, not bad at all. Like "effect" this deep, rich brown has a rather impressive pigmentation. A perfect color to use around the outer crease or to create a sultry smoky eye with. It's a nice addition to my collection of matte browns, though I won't say it's my favorite.
#4 "Girl Crush" though as a girl myself I can't say I'm crushing too much on this shadow at all. For the most part it's not bad. It's obviously has a better color putout than "hanky panky" and I can surely find some use for this matte grey toned brown. But spectacular it is not.
#5 "Envy" and I can say that some of my shadows would easily envy the uniqueness of this color. Aside from our next contender this is my favorite thus far. What a perfect color for a galaxy eye look. That's exactly what this color is to me, an electric, deep galaxy purple. Applied over the right base this shadow has the potential to be undoubtedly outstanding.
#6 "Rex" ... Oh Rex, I've never seen a deep sparkling blue quite like you. I think we're going to get along just fine. I'm already imagining the outstanding makeup looks I can create with you. Your beauty is so extraordinary that I can only think of one simple word to describe your magnificent color, and that word is beautiful.
So far even with my small purchase, on a scale of 1 to 10, I will give the color pop shadows a 7. I feel some of their products are better than others and the downside of buying from this company is you have to wait to receive a package to see which products those are and which ones you might be sending back. Would I recommend this brand? For anyone looking for some very unique budget eye shadows with a creamy texture and pretty good pigmentation I would... we all want to build up our makeup collection without spending a ton of money and this is a great way to achieve that.
Now, can someone recommend me a good sleeping aid? This insomnia has me blogging at 2:00 am...

Youtube needs to up the spam filter
Hello new youtuber who copied and pasted a comment on my video, the same comment you've already copied and pasted onto a hundred other videos that vloggers like myself have worked really hard on only to have their work bombarded with spam instead of receive the legit recognition it deserves... I did see the comment you left on my video... I saw it because I got excited thinking I had a very nice, supportive comment or even perhaps some substantial feedback on a video I stayed up until 3 am struggling to keep my eyes open working on because I had to redo the whole thing due to issues with my editor, but no....
"I know these comments are annoying but please come and check out my channel!" Does that sound familiar to anyone? Unfortunately you did not tell me what you liked about my video and for that I'm under the impression you did not watch it. I get a 100 girls/guys weekly always dropping the come check out my channel comments on videos I work hard on. It can be a little downing for me to think someone is only using my video to promote them self, and not the best way to do so at all. Yes it is annoying. It's also annoying when I see this happen to other youtubers both big and small because I myself feel their frustration.
My friendly advice is if you want to gain subscribers and be successful then you need to legitimately be active and supportive in the community. Dropping a come check out my channel comment on someone's video they worked hard on and not even taking the time to tell them what you liked or even disliked about their video is very rude. I'm not being mean, I might be ranting just a bit, but I'm also just trying to help you newbies out. Sub for sub and using other videos to advertise yourself isn't the best route to take, trust me. People will take you a lot more seriously if you do some more research and go about things the right way. I'm not being a prude, I really do wish you all the best of luck. But I wanted to let you see this from the standpoint of other people and how you will be viewed when you do these things. About 90% of people find it super annoying and your comment will only get marked as spam anyway.
Hell if anyone knows how hard it is to get yourself out there it's me. I understand that. But do you really want to be marked as spam, blocked, banned, and viewed as another greedy little fish in the aquarium? If you produce the right content and work hard on your channel you will not need to waste your time dropping the spam comments, it won't get you any legit followers anyway. Hard work and dedication and being supportive in the community WILL. Think of it this way... one day you may actually get serious, one day you may post a video that you worked your little bum off, perfecting every inch of that 10-20 minute long video, and when people begin spamming you and not even commenting on the video you worked so hard on, will it make you feel good? Or will you feel used?
Youtube needs to up the spam detector. It's getting out of hand lately. Those of us who are serious about our channels and also make an effort to be respectful of other channels need more of the legit fans who will tune in weekly and support us, and less of the greedy little fish...
I hope someone reads this, learns from it, or passes it along to those who need to learn from it. We need to stop and think.
Make sure you watch my latest upload, JLo's golden globe look for LESS! And don't spam the comments section... please... the constant comment deleting is becoming exhausting to say the least...
